Japanese dictation and feedback
Updated 10 October 2026
What dictation asks you to write, and what is currently available on MicroJapanese.
Dictation means listening to a recording and writing the words you hear, in the same order. Summarizing the meaning is a different activity. In free writing, you make your own sentences instead of copying recorded words.
What is available here?
MicroJapanese currently has no published Japanese dictation lessons or recorded samples. Japanese answer checking is not available here. A description of dictation does not mean there is an exercise you can submit.
You can check the lesson catalogue for the site's current lesson availability. English lessons on another site are not Japanese practice material.
What would a result tell you?
A dictation result concerns the answer to one recording. It does not establish your overall Japanese level or an official qualification.
Japanese can be written with kana and kanji. This page does not promise that different ways of writing a word will be accepted as equivalent. Check the instructions for an available exercise before answering; there are no published exercises here at present.
